On March 13, at 14:00, the opening of Yerevan State Linguistic University Translation Laboratory will take place.
The establishment of the YSLU Translation Lab is supported by Eurasia Partnership Foundation (EPF) Europe program, which aims to contribute to the effective implementation of Eastern Partnership inArmenia, and Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) within the frames of “Translation Lab as a Catalyst for Modernization and Reform at YSLU” project.
The Laboratory aims at boosting the higher education reform at YSLU via building capacities for the innovative educational cycle based on “IT-Translation” concept.
The Lab will serve as a powerful impetus to a wide range of transformations across disciplines, as a crucial part of the modernization strategy of the university. It will support the academic mobility of students and educators, internationalize higher education, enhance the quality of education, impact the employability of graduates, and contribute to modernizing the Armenian language social discourse in many vital professional areas.
The Lab in its drive to bridge the gap between research and learning is going to benefit all the students that are going to receive the qualification of translator. It is also going to help the educators to be engaged in real life research and creation of high quality translations, which are going to be delivered to any agency that places a request.
The EPF Country Director Mr. Gevorg Ter-Gabrielyan and YSLU Rector Mr. Suren Zolyan will have welcoming speeches. YSLU lecturer Mrs. Sona Hovhannisyan will present the University students newly created translating blog.
The guests of the opening ceremony are representatives of different international and national organizations, professionals, professors and students.
