Within the framework of seminars entitled “Polytechnic Lectures” a unique opportunity was provided to the professors and students of the State Engineering University of Armenia (Polytechnic) to participate in the lecture presented by one of the leading specialists on developing nanotechnologies, Professor Ashok Vaseashta.
Professor Ashok Vaseashta is visiting Yerevan to participate in the workshop entitled “Technological Innovations in CBRNE Sensing and Detection for Safety, Security and Sustainability” organized by SEUA within the framework of NATO “For Peace and Security” program.
Dr. Ashok K. Vaseashta serves as Director of the Institute for Advanced Sciences Convergence and the International Clean Water Institute at Norwich University Applied Research Institutes. Also, he serves in the Bureau of Arms Control Verification and Compliance, Office of Verification and Transparency Technologies (AVC/VTT) of the U.S. Department of State.
During his lecture Dr. Vaseashta presented nanotechnological achievements which are currently used at the US defense system to increase alertness against radioactive, chemical, biological and other types of hazards.
Dr. Vaseashta’s research interests include counter-terrorism; advanced and nanomaterials for development of chemical-bio sensors/detectors; water safety and security; environmental pollution monitoring, detecting and remediation; and green nanotechnology.
Dr. Vaseashta has authored over 200 research publications, edited/authored four books on nanotechnology, presented many keynote addresses and lectures worldwide on nanotechnology, environmental risk-assessment, and water safety and security.
He served as the Director of three NATO Advanced Study Institutes and co-chair of an International Symposium on Nanotechnology.
Dr. Ashok K. Vaseashta is an active member of several national and international professional organizations.
In appreciation of the lecture presented during the “Polytechnic Lectures” academic seminar SEUA Academic Council awarded SEAU gold medal to Professor Vaseashta, a prominent researcher and a leading specialist in nanotechnologies.
