We Must Create Mechanisms to Improve Social Conditions of Children – Armenian Minister

A group created by Armenia’s Education Ministry has recently conducted monitoring in the educational institution for children with special needs.

During the Wednesday press conference Minister Armen Ashotyan told about monitoring results, saying it was positive experience for the Ministry.

The Minster said it is essential not to separate children with special needs from their families.

“We must create an environment in which the child is protected,” the Minister said. “Studies of the monitoring group will be a kind of a work plan for next year, especially on the part of special schools and educational institutions.”

He added that the Education Ministry had addressed the Council of Europe, and in case they are ready to fund projects in this area, the responsibility will lie completely on the monitoring group.

“We have to develop mechanisms to improve the social conditions of children and their right to education,” Ashotyan concluded.
