RAU Partners up with Software Corporation SAP

On September 1, Russian-Armenian University joined the SAP University Alliances program. The agreement on joining RAU the program was signed by RAU Rector Prof. Armen Darbinyan and SAP Manager for Russia/CIS Dr. Igor Belousov.

SAP University Alliances program is affiliated with SAP (System Analysis and Program Development), a German multinational software corporation that provides IT solutions for business. Among SAP’s clients are such global giants, as Apple, Samsung, Unilever, BMW, DHL and IKEA. Its activities cover consumer industries, trading industries, financial services, process manufacturing, discrete manufacturing and public services. Today the program involves more than 3300 educational institutions from 106 countries. With Russian-Armenian University, 9 out of 11 CIS countries have already joined the global academic program.
Prof. A. Darbinyan highlighted that he is glad that RAU is the first university in Armenia to join the SAP University Alliances. He encouraged RAU students to get actively involved in the SAP activities, “This opportunity is first of all for you, the young generation of Armenians, to be up to the latest standards of your profession.”
SAP representatives in CIS countries introduced company’s cutting-edge technologies for the digital future during a presentation for RAU students in Applied Mathematics and Informatics.
Ilya Shulipin, SAP Managing Director in Belarus and Armenia noted that SAP’s main goal is to build a platform based in RAU to unite Armenian students, lecturers and business to bring to life new projects and give students an opportunity to put forward their bold ideas.
The platform, SAP Next-Gen Lab, a center of innovation and networking, is expected to be launched next year at Russian-Armenian University, where in addition to studying technology, students will work on the projects of SAP partners and clients from Armenia, the CIS and from around the world.
The university will also become one of the participants of the SAP EMEA Academic Conference Karlsruhe, which will be held on September 11-15 in Karlsruhe, Germany. The conference will provide the participants with a chance to get acquainted with other members of the Alliances and innovative community SAP Next-Gen in the EMEA region, as well as with the SAP Leonardo program in order to prepare the curriculum at their institutions.
RAU and SAP plan to work together to prepare and launch a joint master’s program in Data Science.
The SAP University Alliances aims to introduce students and teachers to SAP software and technologies for digital transformation of the economy and business, including solutions for the Internet of things, big data, blocking, analytics, robotics, machine learning, virtual, augmented and mixed reality. The goal of the program is to develop technical and managerial skills by introducing SAP solutions to the education process of the participating universities and colleges.
