YEREVAN. – Ambassador of Japan to Armenia Tikahito Harada (residence in Moscow) on Wednesday met with the faculty and students of Yerevan State Linguistic University (YSLU) after Brusov.
The Ambassador has been appointed recently and this is his first official visit to Yerevan.
The YSLU Chancellor Suren Zolyan expressed his condolences in connection with the disaster befallen the country in March 2012 and expressed admiration for the resistance of the Japanese people.
In turn, the Ambassador assured that Japanese people “will certainly overcome the current difficulties.”
Talking about Japanese studies in Armenia, Harada said that Moscow recently hosted an international competition in Japanese language, where the representative of Armenia took the 6th place.
“Contest results indicate the high level of Japanese language teaching in Armenia,” said the Ambassador.
Note that the only teacher from Japan, Asegava Arihiko, teaches in Yerevan State Linguistic University.
