Armenia – Center of European Higher Education Area

During the Session held in Copenhagen, Denmark Armenia was selected as the host country for the 2015 Ministerial Summit of the European Higher Education Area.  Representatives from 47 member-countries of the Bologna Process took part in that session.

The day before the session Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan had addressed a video message to the participants of the session, presenting Armenia’s application.  And Azerbaijan was the only country against Armenia’s candidacy.

Hereby, Armenia will assume the role of the secretary of the Bologna process for the next three years and will become the capital of the European Higher Education Area. It’s worth mentioning, that Armenia is the only non-European Union member country to be entrusted with such an important mission.

This event is another step to the success of the internalization of the Armenian educational system and educational reforms.
