Yerevan State Medical University

I have heard a lot about Yerevan State Medical University from my compatriots who had previously graduated from YSMU. I knew that the quality of education is high and the tuition fee is cheaper than at other leading HEI-s. My parents were informed that it is safe to live in Armenia and Indians are respected here. That is why I have chosen to study at YSMU.

I had been eager to study in Armenia for years. My love towards the medicine has deep roots and I have always dreamt of becoming a physician. I do realize that this is a profession that requires great efforts and responsibility, as well as devotion and hard work. YSMU has become my Motherland, my second home and the school, where I should carve my future.

Lilit Margaryan (The Russian Federation)
Yerevan State Medical University

Today there are numerous medical schools in the world providing high quality education but the Armenians living beyond the borders of RA remain thankful to their Motherland. Thus, following the lingering dream of my parents I have decided to come to the land of my ancestors and study at Yerevan State Medical University. No matter where I will use my knowledge and skills: within or outside Armenia, I am deeply determined to serve the mankind.

Arabo Shahbandari (Islamic Republic of Iran)
Yerevan State Medical University

It was my lingering dream to become a physician. The love towards my Motherland and the fulfillment of my desire were linked to this university. Today numerous YSMU graduates from Diaspora are spread all over the world, using their knowledge and national ideology to fulfill the holy mission of a physician. I am much delighted to study at one of the best HEI-s of Armenia.

Rohit Kumar (Republic of India)
Yerevan State Medical University

Unlike many other Indian cities, there are no Armenians living in my hometown and I had had no opportunity to form an opinion about this nation before I arrived at Armenia. Nevertheless, I knew several Indian physicians who had successfully started their medical career. They had graduated from Yerevan State Medical University after M. Heratsi, passed all the necessary exams back in India and started their career. The knowledge they had received at YSMU fully met the international standards and was acceptable for the medical education system of my state. The experience of those graduates has filled me with the confidence and trust towards this higher education institution.

Karin Ohannesian, Tigran Ohannesian (Kingdom of Sweden)
Yerevan State Medical University

We, Ohannesian siblings, were born and raised up in Sweden. Our parents are Armenians from Lebanon. We have dreamt of becoming physicians since our early childhood. But even more than that we desired to live in our Motherland, to learn more about the background of the Armenian nation and keep our national identity. Yerevan State Medical University after M. Heratsi was the place where both our dreams could come true. That is why we have chosen YSMU.

Marina Bulkina (The Russian Federation)
Yerevan State Medical University

While working at the hospital I was aware that Yerevan State Medical University provides high quality education. However, I could only dream of studying here. My mother suggested that I inquire whether it was possible or not. It was. From that moment I had to make a difficult decision: either to stay in Moscow with my friends and relatives or leave for Yerevan, where I had no one and nothing but an opportunity to receive high quality education. I took a risk and chose the second. I have successfully passed the exams and am a first year student at YSMU. I believe that my future holds great opportunities.

Nizran Mohamed (Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka)
Yerevan State Medical University

The tuition fee at Yerevan State Medical University is sufficiently cheap. YSMU diploma is recognized by the medical councils of a number of countries, among which is Sri Lanka. The teaching is conducted according to European curriculum which provides the opportunity to transfer to the leading European HEI-s.
As for the country, I absolutely like it, because I feel safe here. Foreign students never face any serious problems. I enjoy being free, independent and secure in Armenia.

Benjamin Michel (Lyon, France)
Yerevan State University

I was very much interested in continuing my studies in this university, because I had already started to become familiar with the Armenian language and culture and I would regret going back to France without benefiting from this occasion. Especially when the diploma of this university is officially recognised by the French government.
There is a distinct difference in the relationships between professors and students in Armenia and France. Armenian professors are following closely the progress of our work, which makes the whole education process much more intensive. That is exactly why I decided to stay here for one more year.

Amir Adel Saber (Mashhad, Iran)
Yerevan State University

I am Iranian and I am the first year student of the Yerevan State University of Architecture and Construction. In Iran I studied psychology and philosophy, and then I decided to change the domain and study architecture in this university. The quality of education here is very high, moreover the diploma is recognised in Iran, which is a very strong incentive for me.
